Void of Course Moon Dates and Times

When is the Moon Void of Course and What Does it Mean?

When the Moon makes its last major aspect before changing from one sign to the next, it is considered "Void of Course."  The Moon stops being void of course once it enters the next sign.

The Moon changes signs every two or two and a half days, and passes through all 12 signs of the zodiac every 27 and 1/3 days. So, that means that every tow o three days, the Moon is going to spend some time void of course.

What does that mean for you? Many believe that while the moon is void of course, you shouldn't take part in activities that are materially "important," and that these are periods of time are best used to meditate or relax.

What to avoid while the Moon is Void of Course:

You'll want to plan to avoid signing contracts, job interviews, doctor and dentist appointments, etc. This isn't a recommended time to start new projects, or go on a first date. Don't schedule important meeting for times for these periods. And for heaven's sake, don't get married while the moon is void of course!

Avoid doing anything associated with money or investments. It's okay to evaluate money problems, look over your budget, organize your bills and tax records, but it's best to leave the cash where it's at until the Moon settles into her next sign.

What do You do in a Void of Course Moon?

These are good times to play, dream, do creative things, meditate, listen to music, do yoga, plan for what's coming up in your life. Organize and reduce the clutter in your closet, and office files. Clean up your computer files. Use this time to just relax.

Emphasis on "Use this time to relax." Most of us have overly busy lives, so take this time as a perfectly valid excuse to chill out, relax, take a nap. If you're new to observing void of course Moon times, use your We'Moon day planner to record what happens for you during these times.

How long is the Moon Void of Course?

Sometimes the Moon is v/c for just a few minutes, but on rare occasions, this phase can last for hours, even days...and it happens several times a week! It's handy to be able to see at a glance when the moon is going into a void phase. Many We'Moon users rely on this information in our day planner.

Watercolor Art of Wolf, Moon and Woman by Melissa HarrisSo, you can see why so many people need to know when the Moon is void of course. We discovered, after We'Moon 2020 arrived from the printer, that the v/c info was missing from our astro data. Oh No! In light of We'Moon 2020 Wake Up Call missing "void of course" data, we have created a listing of all days and times that the moon goes void or course (v/c).
We apologize for the inconvenience and hope that this chart will be helpful to you as the year progresses. We'Moon 2021 will include v/c data.

Thanks so much for this listing! I appreciate it being in a format that I can cut and paste to another document to print. The only thing better would have been to put the list in a easily printable PDF file for download and printing. On the other hand, showing us the last aspect the Moon made before going void-of-course would have been helpful, too.

Mercury, planetary muse and mentor of our mental and communicative lives, appears to reverse its course three or four times a year. We may experience less stress during these periods by taking the time to pause and go back over familiar territory and give second thoughts to dropped projects or miscommunications. Breakdowns can help us attend to the safety of mechanics and mobility. It’s time to “recall the now” of the past and deal with underlying issues. Leave matters that lock in future commitments until Mercury goes direct.
