The Sun and Moon are in a cycle of relationship, a dance of periodic change. This celestial phenomenon offers us a dynamic mandala for exploring and growing in our own phases of life. We may view and use the Lunation or Moon Phase Cycle as our personal Teaching Wheel and Divining Guide.
As the Moon’s visible light waxes, matures and then wanes every 29.5 days, we can become consciously entranced and entrained to its magical rhythms. A Lunar Divining practice helps us attune with our sacred self, cultivate our inner witness, and call in the wisdom of the Moon’s ebb and flow of unfolding light and dark.
When we experience the culminating Dark phase of any cycle, we relinquish aspects of the known and reside for awhile in the remains of the past cycle. In this liminal space, pressed between the pages of what was and what will come, we begin reckoning with impermanence, allowing reconciliation in our hearts and doing the work of self-redemption. Like imaginal cells waiting to become butterfly wings one day, we are held in suspension, dwelling in possibility.
It will also help you plan when to practice Lunar Divination. You can see in the Sample page of We'Moon on the right, that the New Moon is on December 23 (this is from the 2022 planner), so the darkening Balsamic Moon occurs on the 20th.
In the New Moon Phase when the arc of light begins to increase we may engage with the initiatory energy of the next Moon cycle. During the transition into the waxing light, reflect on the insights from the previous cycle. Illuminated by the wisdom of the dark, we may glimpse ways to re-orient ourselves. It is time to ready ourselves to re-imagine and re-enchant life again.
Welcome each of the Moon phases with a meditation to attune with your intuitive nature. Let the prompts offered here follow the inclinations of your spirit. Practice the art of divining to bring a sense of harmonious connection to your self and your world. Go ahead . . . conjure angels, pack your wings and divine the light of your heart’s potential!

Sometimes you might come up agains writer's block when trying to create a chant, song or spell for your ritual. There are many resources that can help knock loose some ideas. I'll list just a few here:
Drawing a card or casting coins for guidance can add another dimension to your Moon Dining time. Pulling a few words that are sparked from this exercise can help you build your verse.
There is a wealth of resources between the covers of every We'Moon edition. you can pick and choose the poem that fits your intentions, or you can just allow the book to fall open, and use what you see there to form the moon spell. We'Moon can be used as a divinatory tool, in this way.
Sometimes there's nothing like a favorite song to bring memories and feelings flooding in. Get swept up in the emotion behind your intention, and chant like no-one is listening. Indeed, the world will hear your call.
Use your unique and wonderful attributes to customize your Moon Divining call. The path that you follow is for you and you alone. There may be many companions along the road, but each of our paths lead us in our own special direction. You will find your way.
